SSC Announces Electric Powertrain and Ultimate Aero EV Specifications

Shelby SuperCars (SSC) released the details of its revolutionary Green Technologies announcing the AESP, All-Electric Scalable Powertrain. The Ultimate Aero EV produces 1000 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque achieving 60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph. The Ultimate Aero EV has a range of 150-200 miles on a single charge with SSC’s “Charge on the Run™” onboard charging system allowing 10 minute full battery recharges on a 220 outlet. SSC’s green innovations will revolutionize the auto industry and set a new standard for electric power in a variety of applications with scalability to include small power configurations for sedans, SUVs and light trucks up to twin motor configurations outputting more than 1000 hp for delivery trucking fleets, government sector applications and military requirements. SSC expects to roll out its first full-scale, pre-production Ultimate Aero EV in 2 qtr 2009. SSC will pursue the title of "World's Fastest Production Electric Car" and conduct a marketing campaign consisting of international motor shows, magazine articles, TV appearances and live media events. Most importantly, SSC will conduct a live media event at one of America’s superspeedways to prove its claims.
